Hi I'm Abigail

I my name is Abby. I grew up in Utah. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and have grown up a member of the church. I love my family, we spend a lot of time together. I am a student at Utah Valley University and I love going to school, haven't quite found what I am interested in but I love learning. I enjoy all the seasons and my family spends time boating in the summer and of course skiing as well as snowboarding in the winter. I love meeting new people and trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I love this gospel, it has a perfect way of explaining all my questions and concerns that my life brings. I know where I can turn to find absolute truth. I am always inspired week by week by the messages and thoughts. I have been a member of this church my whole life simply because I keep finding more and more reasons to ground myself in the principles of this gospel. I have chosen to serve a mission for my faith because I want others to feel the light and knowledge that I have found. I want people to know that they are a child of God, know who they can turn to for peace and comfort, and know that God knows them and loves them. I have felt time after time the love of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. I know this church is true because it makes me happy, I have never felt so happy then when I am learning from the scriptures, going to the temple, and praying to my Heavenly Father. I am grateful for a church that makes me so happy and inspires me. I know that this gospel was restored my Joseph Smith and I support our leaders. I love my Heavenly Father and I know that he loves me. Life is lighter, better, and happier because of my faith in this gospel.

How I live my faith

I am going to be serving a mission soon and so I have been home coming to my family ward. I have taught young women and giving talks and thoughts where leaders and teachers need me. Going to college, I have been apart of the Young Single Adults Ward. I was the Visiting Teaching coordinator, making sure people know who they are visiting and spending time with. I loved being apart of that.

What is being a Mormon like?

One of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps us better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strive to keep God's "law" (Proverbs 29:18). Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Show more Show less
