Hi I'm Sofronaiia

I'm a newly wed wife, a lover of the arts and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newlywed, living in Brisbane with my wonderful husband. There's something captivating about the arts, whether through the pages of a book,a detailed painting or a melody - that truly makes you feel. I love song writing and singing to the stars. I'm not a very outspoken person but I truly feel that if you know what you love and you love what you know, then you should share it. I hope to someday be fearless in declaring the things I love, so today, I'm starting here.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't remember how I learnt about God - I just remember knowing He was real. As a small child I would write songs about my Heavenly Father and talk to Him late at night when I couldn't sleep. I grew up in the church but my confirmation of its doctrinal truthfulness came because I needed to know for myself rather than lean on the belieifs of my parents and friends. I was fourteen when I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover for the first time on my own. When I reached the end - a strong emotion came over me and I could not doubt what I had just read. It wasn't some miraculous vision but it was the turning point that my faith became truth to me. I'm a Mormon because I know the gospel is right. I'm a Mormon because it's common sense to me that our existence is far greater than coincidence - I refuse to believe you and I have no purpose here.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the seemingly insignificant daily decisions I make. Like my choice in clothing, my choice to use clean language, to not partake of harmful drugs or drinks, to listen to Christian or uplifting music only. I choose to read the scriptures and pray. I choose to believe. I chose to be baptised when I was eight. I chose to live the gospel so I could marry in the temple not till death do us part but for this life and beyond. I choose to attend church on Sundays. There are many things I choose to do because of my faith.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

YES and YES! I love knowing that marriage was meant to be an eternal bond between husband and wife to lay foundation to forever families. As someone who has five siblings who passed away before their mortal life began, it has been a huge blessing in my life to know that I am going to see them again and we are still a family. Being a wife now, I can't imagine heaven without still being married to my husband. The gospel brings clarity to why marriage and family is so sacred to God and why we must protect it.
