Hi I'm Rachel

I am a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love rain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and I absolutely love working with kids. I love being active and being outdoors, particularly playing soccer, running, and hiking. I love spending time with my family and friends. I am serving as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Lubbock Texas Mission. I am so excited to devote my entire life to the Lord for 18 months! I love service and I had the opportunity to serve in an orphanage in Ghana which was such a wonderful experience. I really enjoy the simple things in life such as the beauty of nature or seeing a child smile. I particularly love rain and love being out in it. I've had a lot of experience working with kids and perhaps my favorite is working with kids who are on the autism spectrum, they are so precious. I also play the violin and piano and love music! I love Disney and I'm obsessed with quotes. My favorite color is yellow, but orange is a close second.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings peace into my life and it gives me purpose. I know with all of my heart that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the restored gospel and complete truth on the earth today. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, is still interested and involved in the lives of His children today. Not only does He speak to modern day prophets who I love to receive guidance from, He also hears and answers my personal prayers and questions. I know the Book of Mormon to be true and I gain strength and power from it each and every day. I love the focus of this gospel on families and that through the restored priesthood, I will be able to be with my family forever. This gospel contains a true message of hope and the love of God and it brings me so much joy. I just want to share this knowledge and this love with everyone so they too can feel the sense of love and belonging that I have found as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Another one of my favorite aspects of the gospel is my ability to progress. Through this gospel, I am able to improve myself and become more like my Savior each and everyday. The resources are available to help me accomplish this and if I mess up, the atonement of Jesus Christ allows me to try again and again. I am so grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ and I know that this is His church. He is ultimately the reason that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to follow my Savior Jesus Christ's example to the best of my ability. I read my scriptures daily, pray multiple times daily, and I seek to serve others. I try to be a better sister, daughter, and friend. I have been involved in my ward throughout my life. As a youth, I was in leadership positions over my age group where I would serve girls my age, teach lessons, and plan activities. I was also a member of a stake youth committee where we would plan activities that would involve youth from the whole stake. I was also a youth camp leader for girls camp which meant I was able to help plan camp and help look out for a group of younger girls and make their camp experience worthwhile. I love attending church every week and I often try to attend the temple each week as well. I always feel as if I'm coming home when I go to the temple. It brings so much peace and joy into my life. I am serving a full time mission in the Texas Lubbock mission. I am dedicating 18 months of full time service to my Heavenly Father.
