Hi I'm Yeram Park

I play collegiate softball at Brown University and I've been called to the Zimbabwe Harare Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the youngest in my family with two older brothers. I just finished up my sophomore year at Brown University where I'm studying Biology and on the premed track. I was an outfielder for the Brown softball team and was blessed to have the opportunity to play at that level of competition. I love and grew up playing sports including volleyball, track, and soccer. My hobbies include backpacking, oil painting, and playing the piano. Although I enjoy doing all these activities, I can honestly say that living the gospel brings me the most happiness in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Happiness. Isn't that what everyone's trying to find in life? I don't have to keep looking because I already have it. I've been lucky enough to grow up as a member in the church and experience the joys of the gospel. One might wonder how a religion could really bring someone that much joy. What is this joy that they are referring to? Everyone goes through trials. In my own life, the one person I could always count on for comfort or guidance was my Heavenly Father. Even though I have an amazing support system, there are times when I feel like I'm going through a trial on my own and can't count on anyone to help me through. I've seen this within my own friends. But the gospel has allowed me to look at my situation from a different perspective, a perspective that helps me realize that this trial will only make me into a stronger version of myself. It makes me appreciate the trials because it means Heavenly Father is ready for me to grow and he knows that I can take on the challenge. I've always been able to take something from the trials in my life. I'm blessed to have the power of the priesthood in my family and that I can communicate to my Heavenly Father through prayer whenever I want. I love my family so much and am comforted that I can spend eternity with them. The gospel has offered me so much and promises me a hopeful future.

How I live my faith

I try to be an instrument of God every day so that I may be inspired to help others around me. Many of us are living busy lives and I feel that even one act of service a day can go a long way. My most recent calling in the church back at school was the president of Institute, which is a place where you can study the scriptures among other peers and discuss doctrine while having your questions answered. It's a spiritual, enriching , and friendly setting where everyone is welcome! I would encourage others to look up and attend the nearest Institute because you won't regret it! Right now I'm doing what I can to prepare myself for my mission. By studying and pondering the teachings of the gospel, I'm hoping that I'll be able to effectively share my message to others so that they may experience the joy the gospel brings.
