Hi I'm Sarah Trott

I grew up in a large family of 8 kids, which is probably exactly what you'd expect. I'll probably only have 6 though.

About Me

As I've come to know myself a little better, I've picked up a more "go-with-the-flow, spur of the moment" attitude, which is not something I was too familiar with. Since then, I learned I actually like a lot more things!! who knew. Whether it be geocaching at midnight, going to the dog park with my frenchie, Mavis, building forts and having sleepovers with my nieces and nephews or even spending quality time with my parents, I know I'm happy and blessed and I know everything I have in this world comes from my Heavenly Father!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe every individual needs to have their own conversion story. That moment when you are overcome with the spirit in such a way that there is no denying that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real. The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is the truest church on the earth. Even though I was raised in the church, my conversion occurred when I was a wee 12 year old girl. Our ward young men and young women had gone to Utah for a Super Activity, as we called it. Our leaders arranged a meeting with one of the twelve apostles, Robert D. Hales. (side note: I was a very loud and obnoxious child) After our meeting and before he left us, I raised my hand. He acknowledged me and I asked him if the prophet, who was Gordon B. Hinkley, was here too. He answered and said he might be upstairs. I replied with the famous, CAN I HAVE HIS AUTOGRAPH!? (again, I don't know why, I was obnoxious) He jokingly said I was one of 10,000 other people too! but a few moments later he said he would see if he was available and he left the room. The entire room drew silent as we couldn't believe what was potentially about to happen. A little while later, the Prophet walked through the door. We were all sitting around a conference table and as soon as he stepped foot in that door, everyone stood up. The spirit I felt was such an indescribable amazing feeling that it brings me to tears as I am thinking back to it now. There is something very real about this gospel. The leaders are called directly from God to lead us and guide us here on earth. I know the feelings I felt could not be anything else but the pure light of Christ. That day will be enough to sustain my testimony for the rest of my life. I have experienced some of the darkest hours and many painful trials but I love this church! I love the atonement and the plan of salvation which allows me to have eternity in the highest level of God's kingdom with my family! There is nothing else I would rather work for in this life!

How I live my faith

I believe in prayer, fasting, learning and asking questions. When I am looking for answers to questions in my everyday life that I would normally ask my parents, I instead turn to the scriptures. I research, study and pray to receive answers from my Father in heaven. It truly is amazing what you can receive from a prayer. I absolutely love service! I enjoy helping those in need and it is a true passion in my life. No act is too small! It is a quality I learned from my mother and I hope to teach my future children to enjoy serving others as well!
