Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Southern California and am a student at BYU. I love music and play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and just finished my freshman year at BYU. I am planning on majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Music or Economics. Besides playing the piano a lot, I like puzzles and hands-on activities. I love listening to music. I grew up practicing Shotokan Karate and went through the Boy Scout program. Now, I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brazil, and I could not be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has blessed me with a much more complete understanding of life, and I have been blessed in countless ways through my connection to the LDS church. I am so grateful to have been born into this church, and want to share the happiness that I have found in it with those around me.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in my ward as an instructor in the elders quorum, which means that about once a month, I teach a lesson about the gospel to a group of young men in my ward. I love getting to lead these discussions, and I always feel that I learn more from the group than they do from me. In my home ward, I was a ward organist, so I played the organ to accompany the congregation in hymns during Sacrament and other meetings.
