Hi I'm Dustin

I grew up in beautiful Colorado and studying Mining Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the beautiful San Luis Valley, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of southern Colorado. I love the outdoors, I spent most of my time up in the mountains. My family does construction work, I learned well to run heavy machines, and be a business guru. I earn my Eagle Scout Award in 2012. Graduated High School in 2013. I attended Adams State University for two years, then transferred to the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology to study Mining Engineering and Explosives. In 2016 I filed my papers and have been called to serve as an missionary in Florida.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this Gospel so much. It means everything to me. The Gospel gives me so much light and direction. It helps me feel the love that the Savior, Jesus, and God, the Father give to us so freely. In this scary and ever deteriorating world we live in the Church was given to us to be a beacon in the storm. With living prophets that commune with God and Jesus Christ they give us guidance to navigate this world. I know that God knows and loves me so I seek to follow him. He gives us commandments that keep us save and if kept we will be able to return back to His presence. At times we can feel so small and insignificant, I look around and see this beautiful world that God has created and remember that He loves me more than the mountains that tower high above me. There is no other source of more joy and happiness than comes from the teachings of the Church. Faith, Hope, and Charity, these three doctrines taught in the Book of Mormon and the Bible tells how to live and what great things are to come.

How I live my faith

I have spend my entire life in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the Church. I strive to honor the Sabbath and attend church every Sunday. I enjoy participating in the lessons and classes and listening to doctrine. I have served many leadership capacities in the church and enjoy helping others grow in faith. I am currently serving as a missionary to help others grow closer to Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

A lot of people see Mormons as odd balls that live by too many rules. But in reality we are just like everyone else. I love my faith and those that have similar beliefs and standards that I hold. In the Book of Mormon we learn that man is that he might have joy. My friends and I are a fun loving people that try to make the most of this life. I find joy in following Christ and following His teachings. The church guides us as what are standards should be and gives us direction, but it likewise provides the means for much fun and enjoyment. Being a Mormon and having been taught that following Christ faithfully leads to so much comfort and hope. Family is the most critical part of God's plan for each of us. It would be selfish to withhold this joy, so we seek to share it by being an example, missionary work, service, and being an active member of society. Show more Show less
