Hi I'm Sienna Casos

I'm 19 years old. I'm a Nursing Student. I'm the Sister of an Autistic Child. But most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Sienna. I am a 19 year old college student who loves life. I am currently living in Idaho with my wonderful family, but I am preparing to leave for my mission to Kansas in just a few days! I'm the second oldest of six kids, 5 girls and 1 boy. Growing up as an older sibling was always so fun; I loved babies and I loved that my mom just kept having more and more! When my mom had my brother, who is the youngest, I remember being so excited to have a boy in the house. We had so much fun with him. However, when he was about 2 years old he was diagnosed with severe autism. At first it was a shock, but the lessons we have learned from him and love he has shared with us are indescribable. For the past 13 years, my family has been blessed to have such an amazing soul in our lives. My brother is smart, funny, and adorable. We have our hard days, but I have learned so much from him. One of my passions in life is music. I love to sing. I love to listen to music and watch others as they share their talents. I am a student at BYU, studying nursing. I have always been interested in medicine and the way the body works, so I am truly living my dream by studying nursing. I cannot wait to go and serve people every day of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church, but I had a long path towards choosing to be a Mormon. In my teenage years, I didn't have a testimony of the gospel and I didn't even believe there was a God. I only went to church because my parents forced me to go. However, my life was very unsettled. I was unhappy, and I felt so lonely and angry all the time. One day, as I was about to make a very wrong choice, I heard a voice telll me to get on my knees and pray for help. I tried to shrug it off, because I didn't believe there was anyone listening to me. However, after another strong prompting, I knelt on the ground and prayed for peace and comfort. I prayed to know if there was a God out there watching over me. I instantly felt surrounded by love and I felt the Spirit there comforting me. I knew that God was there and that He loved me and wanted me to be happy. From that moment on, I have never turned back. I repented of my sins and began to listen at church and pray about the things I heard. I read my scriptures and prayed to know if they were true. I have had many strong confirmations, from the Spirit, of the truth of this church. My life has been happier and more stable here in the church than anywhere else, and I know that is because leading a path of righteousness leads to a happy life. More than anything, I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and His Atonement saved me from sin and death. He saved me from a path of unrighteousness and unhappiness. I am a Mormon because I want to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, and I know that the gospel and the authority that this church has to do so is not found anywhere else. I love being a member of the LDS church. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by preparing to serve a mission. In just a few days, I leave for Provo, where I will enter the Missionary Training Center and learn how to share the gospel. After 6 weeks there, I will be serving in the Kansas Wichita Mission, Spanish speaking. I will be serving and teaching the people there, and helping to bring souls unto Christ. I have never been more excited for anything in my life, and I can't wait to share the gospel with all that I meet.
