Hi I'm Ravy Chan

Hey I'm a Mormon boy grew up in Connecticut in a town where I only knew 2 or 3 other members of the LDS Church. It's been fun.

About Me

I'm a new member of the LDS Church and even though I still have my trials and tribulation, I honestly feel as if this was the best thing I could've ever done. As I stated in a stake conference talk, "one day as a member of this church is better than the 25 years as a non-member." Life is crazy, life is wild, life has many temptations, but God and Jesus Christ keep me centered on the things that are important and the work that I need to do in this life to reach the highest point in the next life. Without the savior in my life, my bad days would turn into multiple bad days and more bad days would suddenly turn into depression. With depression turns into making bad choices and escaping by breaking the Word of Wisdom, but with our Savior we don't need none of that. He has taken all our pains and suffering for us when he died on that cross and it's a hard concept to swallow, but it is true. I feel most spiritual when I follow his commandments and worthy of him to answer my prayers. He is the truth the way and the life, and thru him we can have everlasting happiness even through hard times and trials. We can't always avoid trials, but we can overcome them and help others through them too. Without the help of the Savior, it'd be way too hard to fight through those trials and that is why I am so thankful to have his knight and shining armor, shining through my heart everyday. I am so happy that I found the missionaries and made the decision to be baptized in September. He is the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I choose the road less traveled and I'm happy that I did. Reminding myself everyday who I am allows me to go through everything thrown my way and so that I can return back to Heavenly Father one day in perfect form. The love that Mormons have for each other is something that cannot be explained and I hope to shine that light to others who may need it as well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by being spiritually minded first thing in the morning. I wake up, think about what tasks I have to do for the day and I ask how the Savior can be present in my everyday objectives. I'm a transfer student at BYU Idaho and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The atmosphere, the classes, and the Tuesday devotionals are everything I could ever want in a school. I just got a church calling as "Gospel Principles Teacher." It was kind of scary when I heard I got this calling, but I realized that God would never give me anything that I couldn't handle.
