Hi I'm Tyler

I love to ski, mountain bike, hike, camp, and be out in the high Rocky Mountains, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in Utah my entire life. I first started to ski in second grade when my dad would check me out of school to go up for an afternoon. I play the Trombone and Baritone and have done Marching Band in the past four years. I've marched in the Washington D.C. Independence Day parade. On August 3, 2016 I will be embarking on a two year church service mission to the West Virginia Charleston Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always grown up in the church. When I really needed the church was on November 2, 2012. My grandfather passed away while I was at a Marching Band competition. I really didn't have any family members to cling to since I was four hours away from my family. I needed the Lord more than ever at that point. I know this church is true. It gives me so much comfort to know that I will see him and be with him once again as long as I am faithful and obedient to the promises I have made with my Heavenly Father. I love this gospel. Seriously. It is so life changing to know why I am here, and where I am going. The principals of this gospel have brought nothing but joy for me, and I hope that someday, you can experience those same blessings and that same happiness this church gives me.

How I live my faith

I've grown up in the church and have been surrounded by other members my whole life. I've been in several leadership positions in the church and even obtained my Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. The church influences my everyday life for the better. My days go by so much better when I am faithful and obey the commandments and promises I have made with my Father in Heaven.

Who are the Mormons?

We are just people trying to make our way back to heaven. Sure there may be weird things and quirks. But that happens really with any other religion. We come from all backgrounds, all 14 million people. United. trying to make this world a better place. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Nope! The name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Not the Church of Joseph Smith of Latter Day Saints. Joseph Smith was a prophet, so he was kinda like a secretary for God. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jesus Christ and what he has done for us. You're probably familiar with the Bible, but we share a new and unique perspective of the love of Christ through The Book of Mormon, which goes along with the Bible quite nicely. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Because some people don't really understand what we truly believe. If all you heard was "Mormon" You probably wouldn't know that we believe in Christ. We also use the Book of Mormon as scripture with the Holy Bible, which sometimes makes people worried. Show more Show less
