Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I'm an actor, climber, and soccer player. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Whenever I'm stressed or distracted and I need to get away from life for a while, I like to climb things; trees, buildings, mountains, and occasionally indoor climbing walls. While I'm up there I feel closer to God, and I can think about the kind of person I want to be. I'm 18 years old and I seem to be climbing things more and more as life keeps moving faster and faster. I recently graduated from High School with an Associate's Degree from a local university. I love to act, I have an odd passion for Shakespeare, and I enjoy getting to know people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I learned for myself that this is the true church of God, and once I knew that I could never go back. On my 16th birthday I decided that I had to know if what my parents believed was really true, so I knelt down and I asked God if He was really there, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the right church to be a part of. For a while I felt nothing, and I started to panic. I begged God, in the name of Jesus Christ, to show me, somehow, if this was real. All of a sudden the panic slipped away and I felt peace. I knew then just like I know now that this is God's work, because His spirit brings peace and comfort to my soul. I want everyone else to experience that peace as well.

How I live my faith

In my life I try to eliminate the boundary between "church stuff" and everything else. Rather than going to church once a year, once a month, or even once a week, I am trying to live my religion all the time. In our church there are programs and activities to participate in, service projects to help with, and callings that give you important responsibilities; but even more than that, I pray to God about work, school, my family life, my friends, etc. I have learned that when we talk to our Father in Heaven about everything, He helps us with everything, and my life is so much better because of my faith.
