Hi I'm Clinton

I grew up on a farm in Southern Idaho. After living all over the country, my wife and I have settled in Northern Idaho.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Southern Idaho - working cattle and moving irrigation pipes. I served a mission in Eastern Ukraine. Then I studied at BYU, where I met my wife. We moved to Pennsylvania so I could do medical school, and we started our family there. 4 children later, we have also lived in Oregon and New Hampshire for further medical training, and have now settled down in Lewiston, Idaho for a job as a Cancer Doctor (Hematology/Oncology). We love raising our children in a smaller town, like we both grew up in. We love being involved in our community and church as well as spending time outdoors. I enjoy gardening and yardwork, biking, hiking, camping, and skiing. We also enjoy vacationing as a family as well as just spending time together.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church and have always felt that God exists and is watching out for us, and have felt His love numerous times. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and have tried to live by his example. I have read the Bible numerous times and the Holy Spirit as given me the feeling that it is true - truth given to us by God's prophets. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times as well and have also felt that same confirmation through the Spirit that it is also true. I have prayed to know whether Joseph Smith was a prophet of God like prophets of old (such as Moses and Peter) and that same Spirit has given me to know that he truly was a prophet, revealing truth from God just as Moses received the 10 commandments. Likewise, I have developed the same understanding that our current prophet, Thomas Monson, is also a prophet of God, that can receive direction for us from Jesus Christ, who is the leader of this church and who directs the prophet. In following the teachings in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and these living prophets, my life has been enlightened and directed for my good. I can understand the big picture of why I am here on earth and where I am going after death and what is the meaning of this life, and of families and how they can continue beyond the grave. My questions have been answered and I have direction in life, which helps me stay away from the confusion and difficulties that society struggles with. And in participating in this great church, I am constantly supported spiritually by those worshiping around me and serving God with me. This church is true and I love everything about it. I love my Savior and all that He has done for us, as well as the wonderful example He is for us. I know that His Gospel is contained within this church. I know that this Gospel is the solution to all of the world's problems. I am so thankful to God for all that I have.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by keeping the commandments and following the example of Christ. I study the scriptures and say my prayers daily, personally and with my family. I try to teach my children about Jesus as often as possible, especially around sacred holidays such as Christmas and Easter. I enjoy gospel-centered conversations with my wife. I try to serve my fellowman by helping my neighbors and serving people in the community and in my job and in showing love and kindness to others. In church I am a leader for the younger group of men called "Elders". I help carry out activities as well as look out for the welfare of people in our congregation. For instance, if someone is moving in or out of town or needs help at home, we will organize a group of us "Elders" to help them. We will also visit those who are sick or having difficulties and uplift and bless them. We each have families that we are assigned to watch over, and I strive to visit them on a monthly basis and make sure they know I am there for them if they ever need anything. I also attend church every Sunday to worship the Lord and feel of His Spirit. I enjoy singing in the choir as often as time allows. I enjoy participating in class discussions, as well as occasionally teaching in class - for adults or for children.
