Hi I'm Molly Rice

I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could. I love to sing, my family, and my Savior. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am #6 out of my wonderful family of 7. Being raised most of my life in Texas, I consider myself a native Texan. I have an immense love for this place I call home. One of my favorite past times is time under the sun and in the water; I love tubing on the lake and swimming in the pool. If someone mentions a quick trip to the store or a road trip across the country, I will always be one of the first to jump into the car! I love the opportunity any car ride gives me to talk with some of my favorite people. Something a lot of my friends say about me is that I'm a good listener. I've been told I'm funny but who knows. Blue Bell chocolate ice cream is already delicious, but you should really add some freshly-cut strawberries to it. You won't regret it. I love to write out my thoughts. There always seems to be a song in my heart, and I'll often sing it out loud. I worked at Chick-fil-A for almost two years, and I'll miss the friends I made there now that I'm starting something new! I am a four-year seminary graduate, and I also graduated from my high school Magna Cum Laude. So far I've got one semester of community college behind me, and I know I've got even more ahead! I'm so beyond excited to serve my God full-time in the Chile Concepcion mission! I will begin my service May 31st, 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom's parents were converts to the church, and my dad was a convert too. Although this means I was born into the church, don't think that I am not a convert as well. I know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and living church. It is guided by Christ Himself through His prophet Thomas S. Monson. I believe in miracles, modern-day prophets, personal revelation, the Restoration through Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, Priesthood authority, prayer, the plan of Salvation, eternal families, temples, missionary work, the Holy Spirit, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Everything about this gospel makes so much sense to both my mind and heart, and I know this is the Spirit telling me what I was blessed to be born into - indeed - the truth. I am a Mormon because this is Christ's everlasting gospel. I have never experienced such joy as I do here. My Redeemer has saved me from many dangerous situations in my life, and has lead me through darkness with His light. I love Him for it. He is my strength and my song, and He has given me so much. This is why I belong to His church. I owe it to Him to remain faithful, because all that He has done for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith WITH FAITH in my Savior Jesus Christ. I rely on His Atonement, and I lean on the knowledge that I have that He can be my strength when all I feel is weak. When I feel tempted, I remember Him who was tempted in all things and remained faithful. When I'm going through something, I let my sorrow be swallowed up in the joy Christ gives me. In a world of chaos, I feel His peace. When I feel alone, I quickly remember I never truly am. Christ is the perfect example that our Heavenly Father has given us to follow, and so I live my faith by remembering Him. I'm learning more about Him through scriptures, come closer to Him through prayer, and becoming more like Him in everything I do. In so many moments of my day, I catch myself when I know I'm not being as Christ is. I feel I live my faith the most when I put myself aside and try to love others with the pure love of Christ. I pray that I can be filled with His love and strive my best to really listen, to be understanding, merciful, caring, and forgiving, and to use my words only to uplift and never to tear down. By the end of my life, oh what it would be if someone would say of me that I was love personified. By this shall men know we are His disciples, if we have love one to another.
