Hi I'm Ron Zook

I grew up in America from the state of Oregon, raised my family in the LDS church and preparing to serve God on a mission

About Me

I am 68 years old, joined the Church when I was 26 years old. I raised my six children with my first wife, living all over America, Europe and Asia while I served in the U S military. My first wife died in 2014, and after grieving for some months, I met and married my current wife. We are soul mates. Now that I am retired from the Postal Service, we spend a lot of time serving those of our church. We are leaving in the near future to serve a full time mission for our church. The hobbies that I enjoy most are fishing and exploring with my metal detector.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger, I knew there was something missing in my life and I started reading the Bible, praying, and searching for a church I could join. After some time when I was living out in the country, there was a knock at my door and when I opened the door I saw two young missionaries on my porch who asked for directions. I could tell there was a glow about them and I immediately knew that I wanted what they had. I joined the Church and although there have been struggles in my life, I have never regretted becoming a member of the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

At church I've served in a lot of callings over the years, currently I'm the Sunday School President. I am also responsible for several families in our branch, visiting them each month. For several years I've worked as an ordinance worker at the Portland Oregon Temple assisting patrons.
