Hi I'm Kyler Young

I'm an Idahoan, love my family, love cows, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi, My name is Kyler Young. I am from Blackfoot Idaho and am currently serving in Georgia as a missionary who shares the gospel of Jesus Christ. Before my mission I enjoyed sports and doing different kinds of work. I belong to a family of ten and am proud of it. Bold statement, but I bet my family can beat yours in any game be it football, basketball, or soccer . .. since we have a full team plus sub ins. :) My parents have made the biggest impact of anyone in my life. They started me early with lots of good activities, including the piano, sports, learning, and loving others and treating them kindly. I love the piano and have taken lessons for the last 12 years. My Dad convinced me to run a marathon several years ago. Some of the things I enjoy doing with my family are joking around, outdoors, and sports. My family has cows and I have learned to work by milking cows, moving pipe, and other jobs I have had. I love to work! The most important thing I can say about myself is that I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church and was taught the Book of Mormon was true along with the bible. My parents encouraged me to make a habit of regular scriptures study and prayer and to read the Book of Mormon before I was baptized. I decided to go the extra mile and before I was twelve read both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Both really changed me. But, my testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ is based on the Book of Mormon. I read the Book of Mormon before I was eight and prayed to know if it was true but didn't realize I had received an answer at first. Later as I continued to read the Book of Mormon I felt the spirit testify it is true. Because I read the Book of Mormon several times during my teenage years I learned that it is a true book and has the power to change my life if I allow its spirit into my life. I have also felt the power of the Atonement when I repent and make good choices. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the only true church on the earth. I know that it is through reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible together we can come to know Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I think it is the everyday things that I try to do to follow Jesus Christ that really count. Trying to help others and be a good example for my family. Also by serving and teaching others about Jesus Christ. I will be going on an LDS mission to Macon Georgia. Right now I am on a mission in Georgia. I will be here for two years teaching people about Jesus Christ. I know that when we serve other people, we are serving Jesus Christ.
