Hi I'm Nicholas Taylor

I was born in raised in South Carolina. I have been called to serve in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission and I am a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in South Carolina. I have two sisters and three brothers; I am the second oldest. I was the Student Body President at my high school, Class of 2016. I play soccer and love to mountain bike and read. Some of my favorite books include but are not limited to the Book of Mormon, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Boys in the Boat, and the Stranger. I have been called to serve in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission and am leaving June 21st for the Guatemala MTC. After my two year mission I will attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Interesting things about me: I have recently been to India (New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra) and Washington D.C., I hold two world records (longest line of donuts consecutively touching each other and the largest amount of people tying bow ties in the fastest time) and I am an Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of church doctrines. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. He listens to my prayers and helps me when I am in need. Often times I find myself weighed down with guilt from previous transgressions but through the power of the Atonement I find forgiveness and relief. I believe in the Atonement. Jesus Christ came to this Earth at the meridian of time with a purpose. Through his mortal life, Christ served and taught his disciples. He established his Church on this Earth. Then at the end of his ministry the Son of God took upon him all the sins, sicknesses and pains of the world. No other could fulfill this divine work. Jesus Christ was perfect and through his perfection he is able to be our Mediator; to pay the price of our sins in full. After bleeding from every pore in the Garden of Gethsemane Christ was betrayed, maimed, and crucified. Within three days, Jesus Christ rose from the grave and broke the bands of death. He opened the gates of heaven and created a way for us to live with Heavenly Father again. I am so thankful for the Atonement! It is available to all who need it but also so very personal to me. Throughout my time learning and growing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the Spirit of God has testified of these truths to me. I know for a surety of their truth. This is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I was recently ordained to the office of an Elder and received the Melchizedek priesthood. I have been able to give blessings to my family and have felt the power of Heavenly Father in doing this. I regularly attend Church and love to partake of the sacrament, learn the scriptures in Sunday school, and fellowship my brothers and sisters. I go home teaching with a companion where we visit the houses of families in the Church and pray with them, teach them, and see how we can serve them.
