Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a college student, love to spend time with my family, am preparing to serve a mission in Micronesia Guam. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my freshman year of college at BYU, and really learned to appreciate the value of education while there. I love to be outside, and try to run whenever possible. Summer is the best time of year, because there are so many opportunities to explore the outdoors! I try to find happiness in the little parts of life, and think a positive outlook is always the best way to go.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the LDS church, but have had to gain a testimony of my own. I needed to receive my own answers about this faith, and have a strong foundation that I could continue to build upon. By exercising faith, I was able to receive a confirmation that this church contains the truth, and that because of it, my life has been infinitely better. I decided that I needed to serve a mission, to be able to share this light of truth with others in the world. I have been called to serve in Micronesia Guam, and leave in July of 2016. I am so excited for the opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father, and know that He will bless me as I seek out and teach His children!

How I live my faith

I was in a student ward at school, and was called to oversee the sisters in the ward by serving them and helping them with various needs. While I am living at home, I attend the family ward, and try to visit with all those I meet. I was recently called to teach the 8 year old girls, and am looking forward to sharing my testimony with them, and hearing theirs too. While at school, I was surrounded by those trying to live the gospel just like me. While that was a great strength and support to have, it also was a time for me to develop my own testimony and decide exactly what the gospel meant to me. I was blessed with many touching experiences that taught me the truth of this church, and that we really do have a loving Heavenly Father.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Melissa
By receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, we are then able to have a member of the Godhead with us at all times as a constant companion. As children of a Heavenly Father, we all have the Light of God with us, but the Holy Ghost is a present reminder and comforter of our divine nature. Show more Show less
