Hi I'm Isaac

I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've lived in Utah most of my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was going to college before my mission. I want to study biology and computer science. I'm color-blind, and I want to work on a cure for that. The science is close to being solved, but people stopped working on it, so I want to finish what they started and make the cure more dependable and safe. I love reading all sorts of books and poetry, and I have a fair amount of experience writing and editing. I'm in the acknowledgements of several best-selling books, but I haven't been published yet. I love memorizing poetry of all sorts. I like ballads the best, but anything with a lot of meaning is good enough for me. In 2008, I was in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. I didn't do very well, but it was such an amazing experience. I got to go to Washington D.C. and while I was there I had some amazing experiences. I got to stay in the Grand Hyatt, work out in the gym with the Prime Minister of Israel (not kidding there), and even had a spiritual experience when my mom was prompted not to get on a train that malfunctioned shortly thereafter. I'm also a cycler. In 2013, I went on a 1250 mile tour through Alaska and Canada. I got to see stampeding bison from a much closer distance than I ever want to again, and we once had two bears in our camp at the same time. While on this tour, I learned the most important lesson of my life. Keep going, and be as happy as you can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Jesus Christ brought to the earth during his ministry, restored to the earth again by Joseph Smith through the power of God. I am a Mormon because I believe that through the principles and ordinances available through this church, I can be reunited with all my family.

How I live my faith

Right now, I live my faith through missionary work. I do my best to share the light I have been given with others. I strive to love everyone I meet and show them some measure of the love our Heavenly Father feels for them.

How does the Church finance its operations?

We finance the church through our own contributions, along with investment of those contributions. We are commanded to contribute ten percent of our increase, just like tithing in ancient days. Although that sometimes feels like a lot, we believe that the blessings we receive from God for our obedience far outweigh the temporal burden. Show more Show less
