Hi I'm Lyta

I was born and raised in Wales. I'm a student who aspires to be a nutritionist. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a 18 year old girl who has been thrown headfirst into adulthood and the decisions that come with it (scary stuff!). I finish high school in less than a month and I couldn't begin to tell you how excited I am to take the next big steps in my life. I absolutely love singing, however I don't think my closest peers love my tendency to do it anywhere and everywhere..(seriously). I am currently preparing to go on a full time mission when I turn 19 so I can bring all my brothers and sisters to the knowledge of this wonderful gospel! I hope to start studying nutrition in university when I return from my service and possibly one day become a dietician. It's always been a goal of mine to have a career that helps others and I know that's Heavenly Father's wish for me too.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I know it to be the true church of Jesus Christ. There is no denying the divinity of this gospel once you have received the Holy Ghost and the outpouring of blessings! Before I found the gospel (or before it found me) I was a very lost, vulnerable teenage girl, going through a very hard time and just starting her last year of high school. At this point, I was very unsure about.. well, everything! without the knowledge I have today, I reached a point in my life where I would ask "What is the point?" or "What difference does is make if I'm here or not?" pretty much on a daily basis. I can't believe that those things crossed my mind.. but they did and I'm sure that similar thoughts have crossed the minds of many. One of the first months back at school, I had to take some time out (advice from my doctor) due to emotional stress and a whole lot of anxiety. I would walk to town or to the park to take my mind off things occasionally. One day I was walking through my local town and was stopped by.. you guessed it- missionaries. They started off my introducing themselves and asked me a few questions about myself too. They then got onto the topic of the gospel. To their surprise, I was already familiar with the Mormon church as I was born into an inactive family. Anyhow, I invited them over, took their lessons, felt the spirit and within just a couple of weeks I was baptised. My whole life had transformed. I am no longer that lost vulnerable girl. I know what the "point" of my life is and I know the impact it would have on those around me if I was not here. I know where I came from, I know where I am going. I hold truths that are so precious and that are vital for eternal happiness. Let this church into your life. Accept everything that it offers and feel the blessings that come from simply living it.

How I live my faith

As I'm a fairly new member of the Church, (6 months to be exact) I have not yet received a calling in my ward. Additionally, I've very recently turned 18 so I am not yet ready to receive a large responsibility. However, I try to participate as much as I possibly can within my Sunday school lessons and I enjoy encouraging the youth in my ward to put forward their opinions. I attend church weekly to receive the sacrament, lessons and many, many blessings! I hope to receive a calling soon but right now it isn't what our Heavenly Father wants for me. Perhaps he is saving something special for me to do!
