Hi I'm Lucy

Pausing my education at Southern Utah University to serve a mission in Washington state, Washington Federal Way Mission.

About Me

I graduated with an Associate degree from Weber State University in 2015, and am now working on a Bachelor's degree from SUU. I'm majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in Theatre, and I hope to work as a playwright after I graduate (I'll be rich, I know!) I am passionate about theatre, literature (especially poetry), and any other form of story.

Why I am a Mormon

Where do I begin! The gospel has brought so much peace, purpose, and happiness to my life. The joy it gives me is impossible to find anywhere else. I love Jesus Christ so much! I know that because of His Atonement for me that I can repent and thus be worthy to live with my Heavenly Father again someday. I know that because of Jesus's Resurrection I too can be resurrected someday with a perfect body (won't that be awesome?!) And that's just the beginning. Other perks of the gospel include: 1. Because of temples I can be with my family for eternity-- heaven wouldn't be heaven without the people I love. 2. Because of a living prophet and twelve apostles who receive modern-day revelation for the church, I don't have to wonder what God's counsel for today's problems might be. The prophet can receive revelation to guide me. 3. Because of The Book of Mormon I have the whole truth-- important doctrines that were lost from the Bible during the course of its many translations have been restored in The Book of Mormon. Besides this, we have a health code (Word of Wisdom) which keeps us free from addiction, we have an automatic community (ward family), we have humanitarian services worldwide, and we have programs to help the less fortunate in our own communities. And don't even get me started on the commandments! They keep me on the right track and make my life so much better. Have a family; get an education; avoid debt; avoid obscene and degrading media; take care of and respect your body; be kind to everyone; don't break the law; don't cheat on your spouse; be honest in your dealings with your boss, coworkers, customers, and everyone else; use clean and positive words; don't judge others; and love God. Who wouldn't be better off for following the commandments? I am so blessed to be a member of this church!

How I live my faith

I keep getting called to play the organ in church, but so far I've managed to avoid being called as a pianist :P Right now I'm preparing to serve as a missionary in the Washington Federal Way Mission (Washington state) beginning June 14th. I'm going to be in the MTC (Missionary Training Center) for the next three weeks learning everything I can about how to best share the gospel with others.
