Hi I'm Karen

I'm a student at BYU. I love singing and family history. Currently I am serving a mission in Lansing, Michigan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Virginia, but my family and I moved to the exotic world of suburbia in Utah when I was a teenager. I've loved both areas, and am so grateful for the opportunities I've had in both places. I love to sing, and am trained classically. I attend Brigham Young University. I also spend waaay too much time doing family history, but I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

My lovely parents taught me obedience and service from a young age. However, as I've grown up, I've come to know for myself how important this gospel is in my life. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, and each time I read it I can feel the Spirit assuring me that it is true. I know it. Each time I pray earnestly to my Heavenly Father, I can feel His love for me, telling me that I am His child. I know that the Atonement is real, and that we can use it for healing as well as strength during challenging times. This gospel brings me peace and joy, and I would be lost without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying for comfort and guidance when I don't know what to do. I've learned that if I put forth the effort to follow Christ and keep His commandments, then I will always be on the right path. I also live my faith by attending the temple as often as possible. By participating in ordinances for those who have passed on, I feel my Heavenly Father's love for me as well as for those that I am performing the work for. Attending the temple brings peace to my life as well as a better understanding of God's love. For the next 18 months, I will live my faith by serving a full time mission in the Michigan, Lansing mission!
