Hi I'm Jesse

I grew up in rural Nevada on a farm. I am the oldest of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Mormon family. I have lived and worked on a farm my whole life. One of my favorite things in this world is music. I learned piano at a young age and played the alto saxophone in the school band. I also enjoy playing the ukulele casually on the side. I enjoy sports too. In high school I wrestled and ran cross-country. I enjoy getting on a mat whenever I can. I graduated high school this year and will serve a mission starting this summer. After my mission I plan to attend college.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned earlier, I grew up in a family of Mormons. Both sides of my family, my mother's and my father's, are strong Mormon families. So I grew up believing it. I'm happy that I was able to grow up like that. I have gained a testimony for myself throughout my life. I think the time that I really began to have a testimony and know that this church is true was during the summer preceding my senior year in high school. I would get up early and study the scriptures every morning. I really began to feel the Spirit more and feel the power of scripture. I have come to the point where this religion means everything to me. I can testify that it is the true church, and that Christ is at the head of this church. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that Joseph Smith really was visited by Jesus Christ and God the Father. I know that our living prophet today is called of God and gets direction from Him. This means the world to me, and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I grew up as a Mormon, and so I've been building my faith from a young age. I love it. Through the years I've been the president over the different groups of young men ranging in age from 12-18. I've been on a council that plans activities for youth 18 and under in our area. I have been on the seminary council, which is a group that plans activities for our religious class at school. I have also been a teacher for the men ranging in ages 18+. I have also been the piano player for the men when they meet every week.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We're the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus Christ is our head, and we try to follow His example as much as we can. He helped everyone, no matter their circumstances. So we too try to help all people as we strive to follow Him. Show more Show less
