Hi I'm Alexis

I'm a student, a writer, a planner and a people-lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some people might think I’m an extrovert because I like to talk, sing, laugh and be a little crazy. The thing is, that’s only the result of a lot of listening, observing, thinking and conquering my social fears. I’ve always loved to write, so I went to college thinking I wanted to be a writer who could hide away. After only a few weeks in classes, although I loved it, I knew there was something missing. Learning about the different accomplishments and struggles of those around made me realize that I wanted to help people. I love people and people need to know that they’re loved! They need to know the resources that will help them find their potential. I am now a Public Relations major with a minor in Psychology. Writing, planning, organizing, mental health and relationships are among my greatest passions and feed my aspirations.

Why I am a Mormon

A while ago, I hit a roadblock in my life where I realized that I was living strictly according to a church I had grown up in my whole life. I questioned myself and my decisions. Was I missing out on fun and friends because I was too uptight? Who was I? Through a journey that consisted of a lot of prayer, acting in faith even when I didn’t feel it, and breaking down, I found hope, light, peace and direction that came with a power I’d never experienced before. We can walk with God on this Earth. He will show us the way to true happiness. The Spirit will speak to our minds and hearts. I came to see that living the gospel was not so much a sacrifice of worldly things as it is a blessing of greater things that are beyond what we can comprehend in this world. Through depression, anxiety, hopelessness, fear, doubt, insecurity, loneliness, betrayal and every other trial we may face, we can find happiness if we turn to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Because of His Atonement, we can give our worries to Christ and live with a peace that is rare in this temporal world.

How I live my faith

Maybe someday I’ll work with an awesome organization promoting physical and mental health through events and programs. But, that is not my greatest goal. I have a Mom and Dad, one older brother and three younger sisters (and countless cousins and other family) who love me and who I love with everything I am. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I loved His church. My greatest goal is to be with my family forever. My greatest goals are to get married in one of Heavenly Father’s holy temples-to be sealed to my husband and children for eternity-and to raise a big family centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to use my education and skills to serve and bless those in my family, my church and my community. My faith is my entire life.
