Hi I'm Abby

I'm from Utah and have been called to serve as a missionary in the Texas Dallas Mission. I love soccer and hiking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 8 kids and I love my family and being an aunt to my adorable nieces and nephews! I've played soccer my whole life and have a real passion for the game. I also love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, rock climbing, canyoneering, canoeing and other related activities. I've attended one year of college and have now put my education on hold to serve a mission. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and know that it is true!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family. My parents were diligent in teaching me about Christ and his gospel as they raised me and they always encouraged me to attend church meetings and activities. I gained my testimony of the truthfulness of the church bit by bit over the years as I lived according to it's teachings, searched the scriptures and prayed to God. This church is everything to me. While my testimony of the church and the support it provides have helped me overcome many trials and grievous times, I would be lost on a daily basis if it were not for this gospel. Our prophet has taught us that "decisions determine destiny" and I have found this to be true over and over, the knowledge that I have because I am a member of the LDS faith has guided me as I have made every major and many minor decision in my life. Furthermore, it has kept me from making countless poor decisions that would have completely changed the direction of my life. This becomes more evident as I grow older and reflect back on my childhood and teenage years. I have been extremely blessed by obeying the commandments and following the teachings of the prophet. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he atoned for my sins, I love him more than I can express. I know that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God and that through him the true church was restored to the earth. I'm a Mormon because I know this is the true church and that it will help me receive all that God wishes to bestow. Being a Mormon has given me hope in times of despair, a sense of purpose and direction in a confusing world and it has made me the person that I am today.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith each and every day. I've had a number of leadership and teaching callings, which I have loved. I try to be obedient to the commandments and the words of our prophet and his apostles. I look for opportunities to serve others and make an effort to have the Spirit with me as often as I can. I'm now about to leave to serve a mission in Texas for 18 months to teach this gospel and serve the Lord and the people in the Dallas mission. I'm going to miss my family and friends very much, but I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do and I'm excited to respond to this call!
