Hi I'm Misty

I'm a newly wed and mother of two A business partner to my husband A gym junkie A changed person through Christ and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm recently married to my wonderful husband who became an "insta-Dad" when he took on my 2 daughters in the marriage package. We moved to a new state, where I am helping him to grow his pest-control business. It's been really interesting juggling these changes but I wouldn't change a thing. I didn't always have it this great and peaceful- I got where I'm at today through the Lord. The only hobby I make time for is the gym, gym time is MY time. No kids. No work. I enjoy pushing my limits, releasing mental strain and zoning out of the world with my music. Then there's singing, piano, dancing, rollerblading, lap swimming and reading (but who has the time for alllll of that?)

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised LDS, I did not always follow the gospel teachings. That time of life was a dark and depressing experience for me but I never stopped going to church and my Savior never gave up on me. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it is led by God. I know that our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ love me and everyone- for every person is a child of God, and known by Him. Christ's sacrifice and love gave me the gift to overcome sin, trials and ultimately bless me to reach my dreams! God lives, our Savior is real and this church is led by Him through a living prophet. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have read it many times, prayed over and studied it. And I share these things in testimony to you because it is truth. Father in Heaven is not that far, He has placed His gospel on the earth, today, and it is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've given voluntary service in the LDS church for many years. I am currently serving on a Womens presidency (focused on the "sisters" in our congregation) praying for them, teaching sunday school lessons, organizing activities and most importantly serving them in times of need or welcoming and befriending visitors and new members. My family and I do something called "Family Home Evening" every Monday night where we have a short and sweet Christ centered lesson and follow it up with some fun family bonding time like playing board games, baking treats or playing outside. We make a special effort to pray together morning and night and we read the scriptures (Bible/Book of Mormon) to our children every day. My husband and I attend a special place called the Temple once a month together during one of our date nights- its a place where we feel closer to God and make special promises to Him and each other- not its not secret, just sacred :). We aren't perfect! No way! But we try our best every day to live our faith to the best of our ability.
