Hi I'm Joyce B

I am a professional artist who works with fused glass jewelry and large abstract paintings. I live in Utah and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an artist, wife, mother, and grandmother! I really enjoy painting and creating colorful jewelry using fused glass. My other joy comes from my family. My husband and I have been married for 46 years! We have six children and 13 grandchildren. I love to get together with our family and make memories! I also love to travel so I try to combine several of my hobbies together like traveling with family to the ocean where we play, I paint, and we generally just enjoy being together. It is such a joy to be with those who you love! During the past 10 years, my husband and I have traveled to over 30 countries and have met wonderful people and learned about wonderful traditions and cultures. People are friendly and good in countries all around the world! It is so amazing to see the artwork which was produced by the early people in every continent and land that I have visited. I love to take my sketch book and camera wherever I go!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born in an active Mormon family, I had to learn for myself if the teachings of the church were really true. I have spent my life doing my best to live the commandments and to follow the principles of the gospel. I have had my testimony strengthened, prayers answered, and have felt the promptings from my loving Heavenly Father many times. I know that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me. I know that He has a great plan of happiness for us. I am thankful that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture and a true record of God's dealings with his people in ancient America. I know that families are eternal and that we will live together after this life. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings happiness and joy to me!

How I live my faith

I have been very active in both church service and community service. On the community side, I have served on the boards and even as the president of several art organizations in our community and state. I enjoy working with organizations that teach new skills to others and help lift and encourage people to find something that they enjoy. My service in our church mostly involves working with children and young adults. I love being with teenagers! Each year our young women ages 12 to 18 go camping together for a week. During this "Girl's Camp" we teach them outdoor skills, crafts, and encourage them to learn more about their Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to be with the girls and to see them discover hidden skills and gain a deeper understanding of their purpose in life! I believe that I have helped with these girl's camps for over 25 years! I also enjoy working with young adults who have decided to serve their Heavenly Father and serve a full time mission for either 18 months or two years. We help these young missionaries as they prepare to travel to the four corners of the world to live and share the message of Jesus Christ! I try to be a good example of someone who is trying to live the gospel of Christ.
