Hi I'm Patrice

I was born in Utah, but have lived in Washington State since 1980. I'm a mother to 7 sons, 1 daughter and have 33 grandchildren

About Me

Being a mother is a huge part of who I am. Raising children and supporting them as they developed their talents from sports to band to scholastic endeavors. I love to learn. I know about many sports now from watching my kids play. Travel is also such a great way to learn. We have been to Venezuela, Madeira ,England, Norway,Belgium, France, Italy and many places in the US. Lived in Baltimore Maryland for 3 years serving a mission for our church. I love to read and Music is my passion. I play the piano and did play the flute. Musical soundtracks are some of my favorite music but love most kinds - classical, jazz, religious. Learning about my ancestors has become a fun outlet for me to learn more about who I am and where my roots came from.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon home but as I entered teenage years I had a strong desire to learn more about the tenants of our beliefs - to study them - to pray about them and find out thru prayer that they are good and true. They have given me moral fiber for my entire life. I know who I am, why I am here on the earth and I so desire to return to live with my Heavenly Father in the future. The Book of Mormon is a big part of helping me learn more about my Savior and what he would have me do in my life. I has taught me patterns for prayer and receiving answers to prayer. It has taught me who Jesus Christ is and what his gospel truly is. I have learned that serving others is what bring joy and purpose to living. It teaches of the purpose of families, they were meant to be eternal in nature, not just for this life time. Throughout my life I have continued to search the Bible and the Book of Mormon for guidance and understanding. I have served a mission in Baltimore Maryland for 3 years and learned to love and serve so many people who lived there. My searching and praying have let me know that I do have a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me personally.

How I live my faith

I am most definitely a Mormon. It is part of the air I breathe. It has helped give me a strong moral structure as I raised my 8 children. One of my favorite places to serve in the various wards we have lived in is with the youth. Teaching them of Jesus Christ, doing service projects and other activities with them. I so enjoy talking with them, listening to them and loving them. I did have a calling for 7 years working with the children from ages 3-12. I played the piano for their singing time each Sunday and it was a joy to hear their enthusiastic young voices singing gospel truths. Something that is very dear to my heart is spending time in our temples, serving my ancestors and my family. Service brings such great joy to my life.
