Hi I'm Emma Black

I'm a student at UVU studying Psychology and come from an amazing family. I love God and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an aunt to nine cuties and love spending time with my family. Late night talks are my hobbies as well as finding new music to enjoy on car rides. I fantasize about food most days and love doing spontaneous outings with my friends. I'm working towards a bachelors in Psychology and plan to become a therapist so that I can help people struggling emotionally and psychologically.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a mormon family and so it was always expected that I would be baptized when I turned eight. However, I came to receive my own testimony of the church's truthfulness upon attending church, praying, and reading my scriptures. It was a gradual knowledge that brought and brings me peace in my everyday life. There have been so many miracles in my life that have confirmed to me that there is a God and that I am in His true church. When I pray to Him, I have this undoubtable feeling that He is listening to me. When I think about everything our Savior did for us and what His atonement means, my heart swells with love for Him and for our loving Father in Heaven because They sent us to earth with a plan to return to live with Them. This plan is one of success and happiness. Knowing that a being so omnipotent and wonderful as Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, have a purpose for me gives me hope and comfort that hardships will not last and that there is something wonderful waiting for me after this life. I've had loved ones pass away and suffered through episodes of depression. Each trial, though incredibly hard, has been conquered with God's loving hand guiding me through it and letting me know that this life is ultimately supposed to be enjoyed. Because He is our Father and Jesus Christ is our loving brother we (humanity) are Their family and They love us beyond our comprehension. Every question I've had regarding doctrine has been answered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I KNOW this church is true and that God loves YOU and ALL His children. I am excited to dedicate a year and a half of my life to bringing this truth and light to the people of the Texas Houston Mission.

How I live my faith

I'm currently preparing to serve a mission in the Texas Houston Mission Spanish speaking (necesito practicar hablando español). In the meantime I'm fulfilling my calling as one of my singles' ward Activities Committee Cochair. I plan and organize activities that everyone in my ward would enjoy. I have also been a ward organist for my home ward and served in the youth class presidencies- this afforded me opportunities to serve with and for my fellow peers by inviting them to our youth activities.
