Hi I'm Cassie

I am from Pocatello, Idaho. I will soon be serving in the Mexico Tijuana LDS mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I just finished my first year of college, majoring in food science. I enjoy all outdoor activities - hiking, biking, running, camping, water sports, all of the above! I also love singing, playing the piano, and playing volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a very active Mormon family, both close and extended. I first read the Book of Mormon all the way through at the age of 9, but continued to mostly rely on my parents and family regarding the Church. Throughout high school, some challenges that led me to feel the need to find God for myself. I think I always knew that the Church was good and TRUE! But there were times when it was easier to live less righteously, and during those times I could feel the difference in the quality of life I was having. I had awesome friends who inspired me with their great examples. Everyone falters or struggles with their faith at different stages of their lives. However, I have found that as I live righteously and within the guidelines of the LDS Church, I ALWAYS find true happiness.

How I live my faith

I serve as a ward missionary in the singles ward. This means that I try and get in contact with less active members of the Church and bring them back into the fold! I also teach a Gospel Principles class once a month, which just takes place during Sunday School and is a good class for people who aren't very confident in their knowledge of the Gospel or are investigating the Church. I am also preparing to serve a full-time mission in Tijuana, Mexico.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The best way to get to know anyone is by talking to them and observing them. Right? Well, anyone can talk to our Father in Heaven simply by praying. Anytime, anywhere. God loves to hear from His children. He is there to hear our joy, our sadness, our gratitude, our cries for help. As we draw nearer to our God, He will draw nearer to us. Similarly, anyone can observe the hand of God in their daily lives - just look at the world around you! The mountains and lakes and earth themselves are a manifestation to me that there HAS to be a God! How could all of that happen by accident? We can also learn to recognize God's hand in our lives through comfort, blessings, and even trials. We were put on this earth to be tested. Yet if we get on our knees and ask for help, then stand on our feet and work, there is nothing that we cannot handle. We will be able to grow to our potential in God's eyes if we let Him help us!
