Hi I'm Topher Haynie

I grew up in Branson, Missouri. I am now a missionary in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Molecular Biology. I enjoy spending time with family doing things like playing games or going and spending time at the lake. I am a band student and I play the French Horn because every time I hear it, my soul just sparks with delight. I was a drum major in high school in our marching band. At college I participated in the cougar marching band. Though I am not a music major, I will always have a love for music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the truth. I have felt that what is taught is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is a true record of the people that lived here in the Americas. I know that it testifies of Jesus Christ. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that it continues and that there is a true prophet on the earth today and that Christ's church is organized with apostles and prophets like in old times. I know that His atonement is real and that it heals all wounds because I have felt it in my own life. I declare that I know these things to be true in the name of Jesus Christ the savior and redeemer. Amen.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am a teacher. I teach people around my age and mostly do this by leading discussions. We tend to learn more from each other than from me lecturing up front. Another assignment I have is to visit some members in my ward and teach them a short lesson. More than that, I am their friend. I am assigned to visit a few of the widows in our ward. It is such a wonderful feeling to go and help them do the things they no longer are able to do and serve them. Often, I get the opportunity to go and mow their lawns, or help them build a fence. It is a wonderful way to get to know people and learn to love them.
