Hi I'm Marian

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a large, strong Mormon family. I had a happy childhood in a neighborhood filled with extended family members and good friends. I decided I wanted to be a nurse after working my first job in an adult care facility. But before I could finish my schooling, I met and fell in love with the love of my life. We got married and started our family, knowing that I could go back to school when the time was right. We were blessed with five beautiful children, and although raising our family was not without conflict and heartache, we remain close and our children are best friends. The opportunity came to go to nursing school when my children were in junior high and high school. We all did homework together. After getting my nursing degree, I worked for a large hospital organization in the operating room and later as a nurse educator for surgical services. I recently retired from my nursing career and now look forward to more time with my family and serving a mission for the Church with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family. It has always been part of my life. As I have heard others tell their conversion stories, I have thought, "What is my conversion story?"......looking for a singular event that converted me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I contemplated that thought, I discovered that I have been blessed with a believing heart. I have always known that there is a Heavenly Father who loves me. I have always known that I can have access to Him through Jesus Christ. I have always known that Jesus Christ is God's son, and that the fullness of His gospel is taught and administered in the Church in which I was raised. I have always known that He knows me and loves me and has provided the atonement for me. I can't remember a time that I didn't know nor have ever doubted.

How I live my faith

I have been active in my church all of my life. I love it. I welcome opportunities to serve in my church and to share my feelings with others. I have served in various church assignments with all ages. I loved working with and teaching the children in their religious classes and singing time (one of my favorite assignments). I loved working with and teaching the teenage girls in their religious classes and in their community activities and camps. I loved working with and teaching the adult women in the women's organization. I believe that has been my biggest contribution to my church. I have also loved my service in our temples, assisting with the sacred work there. Living my faith also includes how I relate to those around me in all situations. My love of the Savior Jesus Christ is reflected in my Church service, but also in all of my relationships at home, in the community and at work. I try to make sure that everything I do reflects the love I have for Him and gives me the opportunity to share His love with others.
