Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in a tiny town in Utah. I love singing, and writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am interested in poetry, history, psychology, philosophy and computers. For fun, I write poetry, collect hot wheels cars, bake cookies, write and rap raps, go hiking, play chess and play magic the gathering. I am going on a mission soon, and plan to go to college when I return from the mission field. I'd like to major in teaching, computer science, or psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the love, comfort, happiness and sense of unity that comes from being a part of a church. I joined at first, because my parents taught me from a young age the teachings of the gospel. Later in my life about 12 years of age, I began to realize more fully the benefits of being a mormon. I got to be with people with my age, and they helped me through the problems that arised in my life. I always had a group of friends no matter what. There was always someone that was a mormon too, that understood what I was going through, and was willing to help me. I needed that throughout my life, and also I had God to help me. He helped me in anything that I set out to do, because I cared about it, and if I did he always found a way to show he did. I have never felt truly alone, because I am a mormon. I also have learned a lot about science, and deeper topics in my studies as a student. I am able to make better sense of life, what I am supposed to do in a day, and where I came from, and where I am going. It is amazing how much easier it was to choose what college to go to, and which friends to have, when I had love, comfort and kindness shown to me all the time. I never want to lose that, so I continue in to be a mormon.

How I live my faith

I participate in the community by being part of Madrigals, it is a choir. Currently I am a ward missionary, and I assist the adult leaders in the church as a youth leader. Being a ward missionary, I work close with the full-time missionaries to help the people who have not joined the church to join it. I do this by assisting the missionaries, teach lessons, and give service. Those that have joined the church, I help them become more involved in the church. For both those that are members of the church, and those not, I get to help them feel welcome in the area, and in the church activities, or functions. Being a youth leader I help the adult leaders plan activities for the youth in the church. Also as a youth leader, I will conduct the activities that the youth do, and help them be involved with the other youth in the church. As both a youth leader and a ward missionary, I get to invite all the youth to come to activities, both nonmembers and members alike.
