Hi I'm Elliani

I am from Idaho. And no, I don't know any potato farmers. I do love potatoes, mountain biking, reading, and family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have just finished up my freshmen year of college! I am studying English and communications, but I try to fit in the fun stuff too-- this ranges between Harry Potter movie marathons, hikes, burning banana muffins, mountain bike rides, and performing one woman musicals to the annoyance of my roommates. I am preparing to serve a mission in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I made a definite choice to become a Mormon. I stayed with the church, because of love I felt there. There is love intertwined in every message, service project, and principle. My favorite concept of the Gospel is that answers questions that everyone struggles with and that it is applicable to everyday life. When I have needed help with a test, when I was deciding on a college, when I was struggling with emotional trials... this Gospel helped me, and it helps me find love and give love. I know that Jesus Christ was born to Mary, and that He brought the true Gospel to earth, and that He wants us all to follow Him. How do we know how to follow Him? By reading scriptures and following examples of good people around us and following the truths taught in this Gospel. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same message and same Gospel Jesus Christ taught, of peace and goodwill. I know Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself to take my sins, and to take away all sins. Through Him we can and will live again with all our loved ones. Life is hard. Life can be the worst. But, through Jesus Christ and His Gospel, life will be worth it.

How I live my faith

I try to adhere to the old adage, practice what you preach. Luckily, I have had lots of opportunities to participate and organize in church and community activities. For my church, I have been able to help organize church camps, where we would have a healthy mix of fun and seminars. I was usually placed in charge of the games and I usually crushed everyone in them. I co-wrote a song for a campfire song as well (I know what you're thinking... and it was probably cheesy but it was played on a ukulele and my own mother said it was the best song she's ever heard). My favorite thing to do, however, was to teach little lessons where I had the opportunity to speak and share my beliefs. I did a lot through my school as well, like hosting a multicultural club where we collected donations for new immigrants in the area. This was through the school's service club and it was an amazing opportunity!
