Hi I'm Braden Akagi

I grew up in Utah. I am serving a mission in Nagoya, Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like music and playing sports. I play piano and played percussion in high school. I enjoy playing soccer and basketball most, but I like playing any sport. I am a student at Utah State University, majoring in mechanical engineering, and am taking a two year break to serve a mission in the Japan Nagoya mission. My dad's family is from Japan so I am super excited to serve there!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but it has always been important for me to gain a testimony of my own. Especially as I was getting older, I had to do personal study and pray to know if this really was His gospel. I have gained that testimony. I know that this is His church restored to the earth by Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He lives and loves us more than we can comprehend.

How I live my faith

I have served as an assistant ward mission leader. As a part of this calling I went to meetings with other ward mission leaders and missionaries to discuss how we as members can best help the full-time missionaries and investigators. I also served as a home teacher in which I visited families in the ward to teach and serve them.
