Hi I'm Kimberly Jones

I love to bake without recipes. I'm a pet therapist and animal advocate who is studying history ed and theater. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Dirt, dogs, dance and day-dreaming, that's how I grew up. I'm the youngest of six kids, but was born waaaay after my older siblings. Eleven years after to be exact. So while I come from a large family, by the time I was eight I was the only kid at home. I have always been ok with that though because that meant I also had the house, mom and dad, and the fridge to myself. My dad was in the military and took a job working as a nurse at a hospital for federal prisoners. He also owned his own tree trimming and stump grinding, business. I used to play house and have tea parties using the logs and stumps he'd bring home from his jobs. My dad was the master of creating crazy wooden contraptions to play on. In our back yard we had a two story 30 foot high tree house, a zip-line, and a 15 foot high platform that you jumped onto a Tarzan swing from. I remember at 4 years old my dad paying me $2 to test it out. HA! Who does that?!? My parents have always encouraged me to be bold, think happy thoughts, and rub some dirt in. In HS I was heavily involved in theater, band (snare), speech and debate, jazz band, and NHS. I LOVE the arts. More recently I've become a tad obsessed with photography. My favorite photo subjects are my two dogs, Rex and Lucy. Life sees me currently in a transitional stage of life. I've just finished my first year of college (hallelujah!) and am preparing to serve a mission in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission! I can't wait!

Why I am a Mormon

The church of Jesus Christ is the only church on the face of the Earth with the fulness of the restored gospel. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet that restored Christ's church and brought forth the Book of Mormon as another testiment of Jesus Christ. I have prayed, I have asked, I have tested. I know that the warm, tender, peaceful feeling that I feel when I read and ponder its teachings is the Holy Ghost testifying of truth. That is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a college student it's so important to decide ahead of time what I believe and how I will demonstrate those beliefs. I try and involve my Father in Heaven in all parts of my life. From asking for guidance, thanking Him for all the good things of my day, and even just telling Him how my day went. Then reading from the scriptures to gain answers. It’s so important not to live my faith for three hours on Sunday, but every day. I love to go to church, institute, with the sisters, and to the temple. I also try and serve those around me and uplift rather than degrade. I try and follow Christ's perfect example to become closer to becoming like Him.
