Hi I'm Sam

I'm a California high school senior preparing to serve a mission in Quito, Ecuador. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho and have tried many sports in my youth: anything from baseball, soccer, wrestling, football, basketball, swimming, volleyball, skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding; you name it. I have been playing the viola (its like the violin) for about 10 years now. I'm a brother to four siblings and love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have gained a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the restoration of the gospel. In English: I have prayed where Joseph Smith once prayed in upstate New York asking if our church is true. I felt the comfort of the Holy Ghost as I asked in prayer if the Book of Mormon is true. This has motivated me to forsake some major sins I had been carrying with me and continues to push me to be the very best person I can be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example to my peers. Many people at my school use drugs and alcohol and live with loose morals. Despite being surrounded by this I stick out because I choose to be different and live by the standards outlined by my faith. I lead a small group of 5-7 young men as part of a church calling and make sure they have an example to look up to.
