Hi I'm Camilla

I grew up in the church. I was raised in my parents' Brazilian and American cultures. I'm soon going to serve a mission.

About Me

I am currently studying English at a local university. I plan to complete my degree and become a teacher after I return from a mission in Chile. I love to dance, sing Disney songs, spend time with my family, and read. I've been a huge Harry Potter fan since I was a kid (my house is Ravenclaw). I have written and performed slam poetry, acted in a comedic play, and participated in academic competitions. I speak some Portuguese and Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God lives and loves me, and that this is the church He sent Jesus Christ to establish. I can show my love for my Heavenly Father by obeying his commandments and trusting in the path that He has set for me. There is purpose to my time on Earth, and that is for me to learn and experience and have a family and become complete as God and Jesus Christ are. Although I was blessed to have been raised in the church, I still had to decide for myself if I would continue in my faith as I matured. Heavenly Father has showed me in ways that I could understand that I can seek my answers and that all that is good in my life has come from Him. I have so much available to me with the words of living and past prophets, the holy scriptures, and the support of other members. When I am following Christ, I am happy. When I am following Christ, things make sense.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively attending church and being committed to helping myself and others learn. I've had several roles in organizing activities and acting as a mentor in a program for young women called Personal Progress. My most important role yet will be serving as a sister missionary for a period of eighteen months in Chile. My mission there will be centered on inviting others to come unto Christ and working for the benefit of the community.
