Hi I'm Bert

I am the third child of 10. I've traveled the world. I love meeting people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 8 children. I went to school and earned an associate degree in electrical automation and took many classes in general construction. I've worked as an electrician, a home builder, and on satellite communication dishes. I've worked installing and maintaining security systems for the state department. Through my work I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world, staying in countries for 3 to 6 months. I am a veteran, having spent two years in Vietnam. I love photography. I enjoy working with my hands in woodwork and I enjoy landscaping.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but my testimony of the truthfulness of the church has grown through my experiences in life. I have witnessed miracles in my own life of people being healed and people changing their lives as they accept the teachings of Christ in their life. One experience was when I was in the Vietnam war. A young soldier, who was a member of the church, was badly wounded and was put in a body cast to reduce the bleeding. They said he would be there several months to heal. He asked for a priesthood blessing. A group of young priesthood holders, myself included, gave him a blessing and within a week, he was able to fly home. I have witnessed many other blessings that have strengthened my testimony of the power of the priesthood and the truthfulness of the church.

How I live my faith

I feel like I live my faith by serving in callings in the church and by trying to keep the Lord's commandments. I have served in many different callings. One of my favorites is working in the scouting program with the youth. Part of my joy in serving there was being able to help my own sons participate in the program. All 6 of my sons have been able to earn their Eagle award. I love my neighbors and enjoy helping them with their different needs. I served a mission when I was a young adult and enjoyed very much teaching the gospel to others.
