Hi I'm Jorri Johnson

I'm part of a big, unique family. I love to sing, and to make others smile. I'm serving a mission in Chile. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in St. George, Utah, and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. I'm the daughter of four parents (divorced and remarried) whom I love with every fiber of my being. Once the oldest with one sister, I am now one of seven completely different and incredible siblings, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I have always loved to perform, whether to an audience or by myself. I have sung in various choirs and festivals, and am now a member of the BYU Womens' Chorus. I love to try new things, and to travel. After deciding to serve a mission, I've been called to Chile, and can't wait to serve!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a gospel centered home. As I've grown up, I've been blessed to be surrounded by supportive family - both Mormon and not - who were willing to stand by me as I decided that I wanted to know for myself if the gospel was true. My conversion is one that has taken place piece by piece, prayer by prayer, and by every experience. I am a Mormon because, as I've experimented upon the words of the Book of Mormon, I've had real experiences that testify to me that God lives, and His son, Jesus Christ, has suffered and lived for us! Even when I struggle and life becomes overwhelming, I know that I am not alone. When I feel overwhelmed, forgotten, heart-sick, or broken, I know that my Savior knows exactly how I feel. I am a Mormon because I've come to know that the gospel is true, and that the joy we feel can last far longer than this life. I know that the hard times we endure are NOT the end! Jesus Christ conquered everything he had to endure, even death: And through his endless love, so can we.

How I live my faith

In whatever I am doing, whether it is service, school, work, callings, or simply going about my day, I try to live as the Savior would. It changes my heart and my perspective to think of how our Father in Heaven sees His children. I serve in my community and the local wards wherever I am needed, and enjoy serving in callings within the church! A huge part of living my faith is in being grateful and positive. Even when things do not pan out, or something difficult comes my way, I am filled with hope through Jesus Christ. It is not the things we go through that define us, but how we deal with them: so I am grateful for every beautiful, happy moment, and grateful for the opportunity to grow in difficult ones.

What is the Relief Society?

Jorri Johnson
The Relief Society is a women's organization in the church built on service and love! Its purpose is to be a safe haven and support system for women and their families, and a place to safely explore and build faith. They are focused on service for all in need. Simply put, it is a group of women, often strangers, who come together to be like family! Show more Show less
