Hi I'm Jenna

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I am a missionary in the California Sacramento mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and I grew up in Northern Utah. I have 3 older brothers and 1 older sister. I have 4 nieces and a nephew on the way! I love reading and writing, and music is a huge part of my life. I've played the piano since I was 7 and the violin since I was 11. I love singing as well. I did orchestra and choir all through middle school and high school. When I was 14 I got my first job and when I was 16 I got a second job. After high school I moved to Southern Utah and attended Dixie State University for a year. When I moved back to Northern Utah I got a job working at a bank as an account manager. I quickly realized that wasn't something I was interested in pursuing and got a job at a daycare near my home. I grew to love my job very much. I loved my co-workers and the children I got to work with. I learned that I have a passion for caring for others around me. I am now preparing to go on a mission in Sacramento, California.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel happier than I ever have before. Throughout high school and my first semester at Dixie I wasn't interested in following the teachings of the Gospel. My conversion happened while attending Dixie. I had the most amazing roommates there and they quickly became my best friends and sisters. They weren't pushy about me going to church or anything, but they would invite me to come with them. They loved me and were the best examples of Christ they could be for me. The beginning of our first semester I started to realize the happiness I was depriving myself of by denying the Gospel. It was easier to follow what society told me to do, rather than what my Heavenly Father and Savior wanted me to do. When I told one of my roommates and her boyfriend how I had been feeling they encouraged me to go to church and talk to our bishop. I will be forever grateful for their love and support in my decision. Since I've started following the teachings of Christ and returning to church I feel like a different person. The Gospel really is happiness. I am so grateful for the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, and everything his Gospel offers. I love the Church and the teachings of Christ. I am so excited to serve the people of Sacramento and can't wait to share the message of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith as best as I can everyday. I help plan a monthly activity for the women 18 and older in my ward, and I attend church weekly. I try to teach as many people as I can about the Gospel and what it means to me. I am preparing to serve a mission in the Sacramento, California area and I can't wait to serve my Heavenly Father and the people I meet. I try to be an example of Christ wherever I go by serving and loving the people around me.
