Hi I'm Jonah Lish

I grew up in Idaho. I enjoy singing, writing stories, and ultimate frisbee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've done marching band all four years of my high school career, all the while reading many books and writing some. I'm currently serving a mission in Minneapolis Minnesota. Although I have not taken any formal training, I enjoy practicing martial arts, and weapons training. I'm a deep thinker, and while some would call it paranoia, I call it always being prepared for any eventuality. I enjoy the outdoors, shooting my rifle, and hanging out with my friends and family. When I was born, I had a large hole in my left lung. The nurses didn't notice it until a little bit later, and I quite frankly almost died. My mother tells me it was a hard fight for me to stay alive, but I believe our Heavenly Father has a purpose for me to be here on this earth today, so here I am. I am fully convinced he gave me my life, and so I try to give Him my time as much as possible, because as I serve my fellow men, I am serving my God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I was raised to be one. HOWEVER, I have come to know for myself the Truth of the Gospel, through study, prayer, and the presence of the Holy Ghost. I know the Truth, and to deny that Truth, would be denying all that I am. Sure, I make mistakes, I slip up sometimes, but it is though Christ's Atonement that I have been made clean time and time again. I bear a solemn, yet simple testimony, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's church on the earth once more. God's Holy power, even the Priesthood, has been restored to men, Prophets have been called, and there is a living prophet today. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in 1820, and he recovered the Golden Plates, and translated it into the Book of Mormon. It is the truest book on Earth, and contains the fullness of the Everlasting Gospel. Any man who reads it, and asks God with a broken heart, and contrite spirit, asking with real intent, if the Book of Mormon is true, the Holy Ghost will bear witness to him of the truth of all things.

How I live my faith

The biggest example of how I live my faith right now is the mission I'm serving. It's a huge commitment, but It'll be the best 2 years of my life. But, everyday life is different. I strive to remember Christ constantly, and wonder what He would do in any given situation. Prayer is an important part of my faith, because it is a direct line to our Heavenly Father. As with everyone, I make mistakes every day, but I am confident in the fact that my trust is in Him, and my sins have been forgiven, as long as I am repentant, and do not rebel or rationalize.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jonah Lish
I, as a missionary, proselyte to bring peace, and joy to my fellow men. I provide understanding and truths to anyone who will listen. I proselyte to serve others, because when we are in the service of our fellow men, we are in the service of our God. Show more Show less
