Hi I'm Christiane John

I grew up in Fayetteville NC. I am a biology major at BYUI but I am taking a brake to serve a mission. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am the youngest of five children, all of my siblings are married and have children. I am just starting out life on my own away from home at BYUI, where I am a biology major and hope to become a PA. I only have one hobby and that is musical theatre, I feel incomplete when I do not listen to some form of broadway music on a daily basis.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the gospel but that does not mean I was converted from birth, everyone has that point in their life where they have to ask "is this really true?" I had this defining moment when I was in high school. I started questioning things that I was taught my entire life and probably gave my parents a heart attack in the process, but I needed to go through this experience or I would have never accepted the gospel. I did a lot of bible bashing with my bishop and parents but by the end of it all I received the best counsel to just read the Book of Mormon and pray if it is true and the Lord will tell you. I can not explain how it happens you just have to have a open your heart and let the spirit testify of its truthfulness to you. It also does not happen all at once, for me it was little thoughts and feelings throughout reading that just said this makes since. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and restored his gospel on this earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on this earth today and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently the ward chorister for the singles ward I am attending, I love the way music can touch people in a way that speaking can not. I had the opportunity to sing a rendition of Oh Divine Redeemer in my home ward before I went to college, I had people come up to me and tell me how much they needed to hear what I sang that Sunday. I do not completely understand how that could be but I know that the Lord uses us as tools to help share the spirit of his gospel and we just have to be prepared to help.
