Hi I'm Teikn Smith

I grew up in Ohio, USA. I graduated from High School loving math and science. Now I am at BYU studying Civil Engineering.

About Me

I just finished High School. I love math and science especially, but enjoyed school as whole. However, I am glad to be done. I participated in Science Olympiad and enjoyed the blessing of going to the National Tournament three years of my four in high school. I love the engineering and problem solving involved in the competition and this is reflected in my other interests as well. Outside of my science world, I enjoy nature and wish I spent more time in it. I go biking (both mountain and road) and sometimes I go to the park just to swing. I love feeling the natural air and enjoying God's creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. That just about sums up why I choose to be a Mormon. The hope that the gospel brings in its teachings is one of the best things I can have in this life. I especially love the focus on families and building relationships that can continue into the eternities. As I have learned of the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ and exercised faith in them, I have come to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not just a great organization that does good in the world but that it is truly Christ's church on the earth and that by being a member and following the teachings of the gospel, I can have hope for the eternities.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church every Sunday. It is in the Sunday meetings that I act on my faith a lot. I like participating in classes, and sometimes I lead them as well. I have been a leader in the youth group and have the opportunity to help direct the lessons in our Sunday Schools. I also get to help plan week-day activities as a leader in the youth group. I like creating plans where we get to be active and still learn gospel truths or give service to those need.
