Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a long distance runner, a political science major, a pun enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey I'm Jamie! I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a sophomore in college, and I just turned twenty years old. I love to trail run, read, indoor rock climb, journal, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to live its teachings because of the happiness, stability, and peace that it brings into my life. Although I grew up Mormon, there came a point in my life where I needed to determine for myself if it was true. I was thirteen at the time, and I was trying to discover who I was and what direction I wanted my life to go. I started to read the Book of Mormon. As I read and sincerely prayed to know if it was true, my life began to change. My perspective became brighter, my days became happier, my life filled with purpose, and I started to feel God's love for me. My belief in the Book of Mormon and my daily decision to follow Him strengthen me. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is for everyone. And through study and prayer, everyone can know of this for themselves.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others and loving them the way Jesus Christ would. My sweet mother taught me this from a young age. All throughout my childhood, I remember visiting several elderly widows who needed a friend. As I came along with my mom, I too became close friends with several of these ladies. Throughout the years, I was blessed to learn about their lives, their families, their memories, and their faith. I grew to love them as family. Even though my family moved to a different town about twenty minutes away, my mother and I continue to visit them frequently. Although these ladies teach me much more than I could ever help them, I try to live how Jesus Christ would. Right before I left for my mission in Georgia, I served as a primary teacher for the four-year old children at church. This means I got to teach eight adorable, rambunctious, and kindhearted kids about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am currently serving as a missionary in Atlanta Georgia. I love sharing what has brought so much happiness into my life with the people of Georgia.
