Hi I'm Braden Reese

I have grown up in Idaho. I have been a member all my life. I know the church is true. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've been called to serve in the Samoa Apia Mission speaking the Samoan language. I strive everyday to be a faithful, obedient, humble, and hard-working servant of the Lord. I know the church is true!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus's restored church, that it is the only true and living gospel on this earth. I have endured many hardships, both with and without the strength of my Savior pushing me along, and let me tell you, life is a thousand times better, easier, and brighter when you constantly have someone building you up, pushing you forward, and cheering you on. I am a Mormon because I have felt the true and eternal happiness that God has promised to those who are righteous and endure to the end. Through the Holy Ghost, I feel happiness, I feel comforted, I feel confident, and I always feel like everything is going to be alright. I am a Mormon because I know that through this church only will I be able to live in a state of true happiness, with my family, for eternity. I know that by living the standards of the church, not only can I make it to live with my Heavenly Father and Savior in the next life, but I can be happy in this life as well, and I have truly seen and felt that in my life. I am a Mormon because I know it is the best possible thing I can be.

How I live my faith

It wasn't until the summer after junior year that I really found my testimony. Before, I had always gone to church with my family but more due to the fact that it was expected than anything else. I made the decision when I was very young to serve a mission, so that had always been a goal I intended to reach, but the choices I was making were leading me astray from that path. Trek, a youth activity where we dress like the Mormon pioneers and push handcarts for about a week in the mountains, really solidified my testimony of the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. It allowed me to feel that spirit that I hadn't felt in so long, and it motivated me to work towards my goal of serving a mission. Since then, I strengthen my faith and my testimony daily by reading my scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father every morning and every night, at the least. Consistency is key. They say "practice makes perfect" and it's absolutely true, even in the gospel. In order to receive our own testimonies and have a strong amount of faith, we must build it up. We only ever progress forwards or backwards, we are never dormant. If we are not constantly working to come closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior, we are falling further.
