Hi I'm L Voyles

I am a college student-athlete taking a break to serve a mission in Russia. I trust in Christ and work to succeed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm preparing to serve a full-time LDS mission in Russia. I just finished my first year of college studying philosophy and playing soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story involves a steady increase of my testimony throughout my life. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I have tested the message of this gospel. No one is perfect, and neither am I. In order to gain my TESTimony, Heavenly Father has blessed me with TESTs, trials, weaknesses, and obstacles. I testify that there is a Plan of Happiness. I know that I was sent to this earth--at this time, to my family, and in my circumstances--to nurture a testimony of my own. I know that I am supposed to go to Russia on a mission at this time because there are people there who need me, and I need them. I know that in working together and learning from the Holy Ghost, the hearts of those I meet and my own heart will be turned to Christ. I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints reins true. Without testifying of this everyday, how can we know that a divine plan is in place for us? And without Heavenly Father's divine plan, how can we expect to live in peace and with purpose each day? I know that the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I love receiving callings and other leadership positions in the church that challenge me to be a greater leader like my Savior. I have had the opportunity to serve in Young Women class presidencies, as a nursery leader, and as a stake activities committee member. Recently, I served as co-chairman of the Institute Enrollment and Retention committee on the Institute Council. Though this was not an actual calling, I enjoyed magnifying my position as I studied church manuals, prayerfully explored the scriptures, attended Institute, observed my peers and leaders, and trusted in the Lord. In doing these things, I learned how to lead more like Christ in humility, faith, service, and love.
