About Me

I love to run. I love to sing and play the violin. I love cooking, baking, and discovering new ways to make things. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church which has been restored back to the earth today. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me more than anything else. He wants to hear from me everyday and loves to hear my prayers to Him. I know that my Heavenly Father loves to hear my prayers and loves to bless me. I know that my family can be together for time and all eternity through Christ's atonement and the Sealing Ordinances in the temple. I know that I am a child of God, and that my worth is greater than that of rubies.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving every day to be more Christlike. I try my best to invite others unto Christ by portraying Him in the best way that I can through my actions. I focus my day around the blessings that my Heavenly Father has given me this day, whether it be a rainbow in the sky or a simple blessing like a stranger smiling and saying Hello. I know that my heavenly Father loves me and try to show my appreciation to Him through prayer each day. I am currently serving a mission in the West Virginia, Charleston Mission and am loving learning more about my Savior and teaching others about God's plan for them.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is simply another testament of Jesus Christ. It was written by ancient prophets around the same time as the bible, more exactly around 600 B.C., in the Americas. Just as God loves his children all around the world today, he loved his children who were scattered around then as well. Because of his love for them, God called a prophet to lead them just as he had for his other children. One of these prophets, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. and after receiving revelation from God, he led a small group of people to the American continent. The Book of Mormon starts out with their journey to the American continent. God continued to call prophets among these people and as time went on, each prophet and record keeper wrote the most important writings and teachings of God. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. The last prophet to do so was named Mormon, who the book is named after. The Book of Mormon does not replace the teachings of the Bible, but rather supports, verifies, and works hand and hand with the writings in the King James version of the Bible, which we also study from. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
