Hi I'm Raustin

I grew up in Cokeville Wyoming. I am going to school at USU. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Some of my hobbies are hunting (especially archery), fishing, hiking, paintballing, ranching, and fixing my 1990 Jeep Comanche. I am currently at college studying to become a doctor, getting a degree in human biology. I like reading historical books, such as the The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom, by Slavomir Rawicz. I also enjoy reading the scriptures and learning about the life of Christ. Lastly, I do enjoy socializing, but I find great joy in going into the mountains and just being alone listening/watching nature.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am a Mormon is because of the peace that it brings to my life. Also living this gospel helps to keep me out of trouble and trying to do my best for my fellow beings. I was born and raised in this church, so I don't know what it feels like to give up everything for the church. However, I do know how it feels to be the only Mormon in the room when everyone else is bad talking my beliefs. Through those kinds of experiences I have become more understanding of others and their beliefs. I try to do my best and be like Christ loving all my fellow beings no matter who they are or where they came from. I have found that I can't force others to believe what I believe, but I always try to make an effort, if people ask, to help them understand my beliefs. The last reason that I am a Mormon is because I know that Christ lives and has restored this wonderful church here on earth. I know that the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, testify of Christ and God's divine plan for us. Knowing that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it is true means that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he restored the true church here on earth. This gospel is true, it has changed my life in many ways and has shaped me into the man that I am today.

How I live my faith

I over the years have been an active member of the ward. I have helped with the Pioneer celebration (24th of July celebration festivities). I have also served with the youth doing scouting, service, camping, and other life building skills. Some of my fondest memories are doing home-teaching with my dad. It was very inspiring to bring the message of Christ into peoples homes. Lastly during my high school years I tried to be an example for good in all that I did. It brought joy into my life when people would walk up to me and say, "Hey, there is something different about you...What is it that makes you different?". My response would be that I was a member of the LDS faith and strive to be the best person I can be. Most of the time that is where the conversation would end, but sometimes people would ask more and I could share some of my beliefs.
