Hi I'm Mackinzie

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I am a music lover, adventurer, currently a Missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a fairly large family and by that I mean I am the last of seven children with a fourteen year age gap between the second youngest sibling and I. I have also been an auntie since I was six months old and am an auntie today to fifteen nieces and nephews. I love movies, music and traveling/ adventuring. In addition to my love of teaching music and all things adventurous I am also a huge fan of Pinterest. I love the inspiration and ideas it gives me on anything and everything. But for the time being, I am serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon church but it wasn't until I was in high school that I could actually appreciate what the church was about and accept it in my life. For me high school was full of falling down and me trying to get back up and more falling down and more trying to get back up and dust myself off. I encountered many trials but it was through prayer, support from youth leaders, and everything else in the gospel that I became stronger with every trial that came my way; making it harder for me to get knocked down because I now knew that whether we like it or not everything happens for a reason and in the Lord's time. In these times of distress in my life and constantly feeling like I was alone and that no one understood, the more I relied on prayer, the less I felt alone and the more like I could do anything with the Lord's help which is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well I think the way I am currently living my faith by serving as a full- time missionary for the church. I feel so fortunate to set aside these 18 months for serving the Lord, our fellow brothers and sisters. This experience is teaching me so much about the potential that God sees in each of us. And whenever someone asks me what my favorite thing about being a missionary, my response is always the love that God allows me to feel for each of his children within seconds of meeting them. Especially because of where I serve, I have the pleasure to meet people from all around the world and it is still amazing to me that no matter who we are or where we come from, we are all his children and I love helping people come to know that themselves.
