Hi I'm Porter

I live in Idaho. I am excited to soon serve a mission in the Nicaragua Managua North Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Porter. I am part of a family of seven, and I am eighteen years old. Due to the missionary age change a few years back, I will be serving a mission one month after I graduate high school. I am so excited to serve the people of Nicaragua! This is an opportunity and a blessing that I have been preparing for my entire life. When I return from Nicaragua, I will go to college to study Biology and run Track and Cross Country.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has given me a bright path to take my entire life. Growing up, I was placed with youth of similar age where I could make friends and learn who I wanted to be. I was consistently given opportunities to learn, grow, and experience many uplifting and beneficial things that have shaped my personal outlook and attitude. Most importantly, as a Latter-Day Saint, I have truly come to know my Savior, Jesus Christ. He has a direct influence upon my life, because he knows me, he knows what I am going through, and he can help me with anything. I believe that He is the center of my religious worship, because I, as an imperfect person, am not capable of perfection. But through the atoning love of Jesus Christ, who is perfect, I can come to see my true potential-- the potential to do good here on earth, as well the potential to do good in heaven for eternity. This is what Jesus does for me.

How I live my faith

As a Latter-Day Saint, I believe that there is genuine purpose in life, and that purpose is to learn, grow, experience many things, make good decisions, come to know Jesus Christ, and eventually return to live with God, our Heavenly Father, in Heaven. I live my life striving to be an example of this belief, because I know that if this is my belief then I will be happy now and for eternity. I hope that others may see it in me, because the belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ truly does make me happy; it defines my faith and my personal identity, as it guides me day by day to do what is right.
